At the Intersection of Art, Light and Technology

Birk Nygaard’s work operates at the intersection of visual art, technology, music, architecture, and spatial design. Working across disciplines, he creates immersive experiences that extend beyond the traditional boundaries of a single medium. Through the use of light, lasers, video, projection, and digital systems, his projects transform physical spaces and explore the relationship between image, sound, movement, and the surrounding environment.

His practice ranges from live performances and touring productions to site-specific installations and public art projects. Collaborating with musicians, artists, designers, architects, and technical specialists, Nygaard brings together different fields of expertise to develop works that are both conceptually driven and technically ambitious. Rather than treating technology as an end in itself, he uses it as a creative tool to shape atmosphere, perception, and collective experience.

This multidisciplinary approach allows his work to adapt to a wide variety of contexts, from concert stages and cultural institutions to architectural spaces and outdoor environments. At its core, his practice is concerned with creating visual experiences in which light, space, technology, and human presence become integral parts of a unified whole.
